Resumen:
El Grupo de Asesoramiento de Peces e Invertebrados Acuáticos (FAITAG) de la
Asociación Europea de Zoos y Acuarios (EAZA: www.eaza.net) mantuvo una reunión
los días 5 y 6 de mayo de 2007 en Londres.
A la reunión asistieron representantes de la Sociedad Zoológica de Londres (ZSL),
Tiergarten Schönnbrun (Zoo de Viena), Universidad de Viena, Asociación Alemana de
Killis (DKG), Asociación Británica de Killis (BKA) y de la Sociedad de Estudios
Ictiológicos (SEI).
Los objetivos de la misma fueron conocer la situación en cautividad y en la naturaleza
de diversas especies de los géneros Aphanius, Valencia, Cyprinodon, Cualac y Lucania
para determinar qué especies son prioritarias para realizar un esfuerzo de conservación
en cautividad.
Desde este momento, la SEI es miembro del grupo de asesoramiento del FAITAG y
coordinadora de Aphanius saourensis, Cyprinodon alvarezi y Megupsilon aporus.

Abstract:
The Fish and Aquatic Invertebrates Taxon Advisory Group (FAITAG) of the European
Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA: www.eaza.net) held a meeting in London on
May the 6th and 7th.
Representatives of the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), Tiergarten Schönnbrun
(Vienna Zoo), University of Vienna, German Killifish Association (DKG), British
Killifish Association (BKA) and the Sociedad de Estudios Ictiológicos (SEI) were
present in this meeting.
The goals of the meeting were to know the current situation both in captivity and in the
wild of some species from the geni Aphanius, Valencia, Cyprinodon, Cualac and
Lucania, to determine which of them should be priorised for captive conservation
efforts.
From this moment on, the SEI is a member of the FAITAG advisory group, and
coordinates the following species: Aphanius saourensis, Cyprinodon alvarezi and
Megupsilon aporus.

Reunión en Londres
El pasado fin de semana asistí como representante de la SEI a la reunión convocada por la Sociedad Zoológica de Londres (ZSL) del Grupo de Asesoramiento de Peces e Invertebrados Acuáticos (FAITAG por sus siglas en inglés) de la Sociedad Asociación Europea de Zoos y Acuarios.
Last week end I went as the SEI representative to the meeting convoked by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) of the Fish and Aquatic Invertebrates Taxon Advisory Group (FAITAG) of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria.
Muchas cosas habladas y muchos proyectos muy interesantes. Creo que se ha reconocido la labor que estamos haciendo, nuestro Proyecto de Conservación, la importancia de establecer una colección de peces preservados en alcohol, los viajes de observación y colecta...
We talked about many things and interesting projects arose. I think that know the work that the SEI is doing is better known, our Conservation Project, the importance of having an ichthyological collection of preserved individuals, our observation and collecting trips...

Asimismo se entregaron ejemplares de Aphanius anatoliae sureyanus (descendientes de los colectados en el viaje TUBCD 2005) a Heiko Kaerst, de la Asociación Alemana de Killis (DKG).
As well, individuals of Aphanius anatoliae sureyanus (offspring from the ones collected during the 2005 TUBCD trip) were handled to Heiko Kaerst, from the German Killifish Association (DKG).

Intenso fin de semana / Intense week end
Vistas las primeras crías al exterior de Aphanius mento "Kir Goz" y A. danfordii "Kirsehir". Los primeros A. villwocki no tardarán, pero la temperatura ha bajado mucho de repente.
First fry observed outdoors, from Aphanius mento "Kir Goz", and A. danfordii "Kirsehir". The first A. villwocki will be hatching soon, but the temperature has suddenly gone down.
En cuanto a los goodeidos, esta semana se ha comprobado que los Characodon audax son capaces de pasar el invierno al exterior en Badalona y han nacido las primeras crías del año en acuario. Las hembras de Skiffia francesae empiezan a engordar.
Regarding Goodeids, this week we checked that Characodon audax are able to endure the whole Winter outdoors in Badalona. First fry of the year from this species were born in aquaria. The Skiffia francesae females are getting fat at last.
Se han entregado Aphanius sirhani a Luciano Pérez de la SEK y José Antonio Granados, de la Asociación Española de Acuariofilia.
Aphanius sirhani were donated to Luciano Pérez from the SEK, and José Antonio Granados from the Asociación Española de Acuariofilia.
Pedro Ellauri de la SEK también ha recibido otras especies que pronto serán indicadas.
